This Sunday, 22nd May, is Photographica, the largest camera and photographica fair in the UK. The event is organised by the Photographic Collectors Club of Great Britain ( PCCGB ).

If you love old cameras then this is the place to be on Sunday. The event is held at the society’s Lindley Hall in Vincent Square, London SWI.

There is everything from wood and brass cameras to folding cameras, SLRs and even some digital cameras. The hall is packed with sellers and buyers and is a truly international event.

The focus is on camera equipment but there are always photographs for sale and also items such as stereo viewers.
Its a great chance to see rare cameras and photographic equipment but not everything is rare or expensive.

I will be there and my focus will be on early cameras and other photographic items. I would expect to see wood and brass cameras, sliding box cameras, wet plate cameras and possibly a daguerreotype camera. Cameras made by Meagher, Watson, Pyne, Thornton Pickard, Hare and many others are likely to be for sale.

I hope to see you there. Let me know in advance if you would like to talk to me about the sale of any early camera.
